PAUL BURNHAM

This is Paul’s 21st year doing panto but his 1st year for First Family Pantomimes.

After sniffing glue in and episode of Juliet Bravo at the tender age of 8, native Yorkshireman, Paul suddenly made up his mind to become an actor! Making his professional stage debut and gaining his Equity card at 17 in the pantomime Aladdin, Paul then spent a season as a Redcoat at Butlin's before taking up the offer of a scholarship at the prestigious Guildford School of Acting.

Leaving Guildford he took the offer of his first summer season and went to Minehead with Smart Alec Productions who then cast him in the 1940’s National Tour of 'Pack Up Your Troubles'. This was to be the first of many principal roles in National Tours, including; 'The Magic of the Musicals', 'West End to Broadway' ‘50’s and 60’s Rock and Roll Experience’ and 'Irving Berlin, Everybody's Doing It.

Creating the role of Henri in the Sadler's Wells Theatre production of 'Viva O'Carnival', Paul then went on to play The Beast in the National Tour of 'Beauty and the Beast' for which he received rave reviews. Not only an accomplished musical theatre performer, he has also appeared with the prestigious Opera West Company in their productions of Carmen, Eugene Onegin and Nabucco, and has narrated the notoriously difficult "Facade" with the 'London Symphony Orchestra',
Paul is also laughably proud to have appeared as the legendary Big Bird in the German version of Sesame Street.

Paul's break as a television presenter came whilst touring in the national Tour of 'Joseph and His Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat' during which time he played the roles of Levi and the Butler.

Paul's creation 'Tommy Toon' was seen in his series 'Toonatics' which he wrote and presented. 'Toonatics' was transmitted every weekday morning on Children's BBC throughout 1997/98.
Paul spent 3 years in the West End production and national tour of the musical 'Grease' in which he played, Teen Angel and Vince Fontaine culminating in a tour of Japan.
Last year Paul stopped the show in a big charity gala at the Lyceum Theatre in London's West End for the charity FARA. No stranger to big crowds Paul also sang solo in front of over 10,000 people at Party in the Park for the Prince’s Trust.
No stranger to Pantomime, Paul has played
‘Muddles’ in ‘Snow White’, ‘Idle Jack’ in 'Dick Whittington' and ‘Wishee Washee’ in Aladdin. After playing Sarah the Cook in Dick Whittington last year with Cannon and Ball it was universally decided that Paul was far too young and beautiful to ever play Dame. So he is delighted to take his rightful place as the MOST beautiful of ALL Baron Hardup’s daughters. (Oh yes he is!).
Make sure you look out for Paul in the forthcoming movie ‘Colour Me Kubrick’ in which he plays the part of Hex Mortimer opposite John Malkovich which has just been released in the US.

Paul’s other TV/Film credits include: 'A Dance to the Music of Time' (C4), 'Down Among the Big Boys' (BBC), 'Taggart' (STV), 'Rab C Nesbitt' (BBC), 'City Lights' (BBC), 'Take the High Road' (STV) and 'The High Life' (BBC).
